Ok this is mainly a question for PVJunkie. I just got the latest issue of TFN and saw the Gill ad for the new Soft Box. It looks like a great way to improve safety. The ad is a little vague and I was wondering if what it is made out of, how it works etc. Also does it replace the area around the plant box? b/c it looks like a big square piece with the box in the middle. How durable is it?

Durable -so far seems very durable - Jan Johnson has had one at his camp since last summer - lots of jumps on it. The area where the pole impacts during take-off is not padded but steel with the pvc layer covering it. about the size of a large candy dish - The light green area with the dots shown in the ad is the sydex material that gives the energy absorbtion (Skydex which is a patented material). The candy dish extends about half way up the back slope of the box and out or back towards the runway about one foot. So if you are real accurate an can land there without hitting the upper edge it would be like an all steel box - if you hit the upper edge or any of the surrounding area it would absorb much of the energy. As far as plant and take-off Jan says you cann;t tell the difference. Yes it does also replace area around box - a bit of concrete work is needed to install. Sorry so long winded if you want more explanation/detail - e-mail me

Wow I forget the delecacies of growing up in the dairy state (WI). Cheese Curds Are these little narled up balls of cheese. I believe they are what floats up to the surface in the vat as they are making the cheese. They actually are not that bad tasting.

I'm not sure what curds and whey are. But, I reallized that the lumpy portion of cottage cheese is similar to cheese curds-only on a much smaller scale. Cheese curds are bit sized (size of a piece of hard candy)
