First off, the pacer fx's are made from fiberglass and carbon fx's are made from fiberglass and carbon fibers. Next, the carbons tend to weigh less than pacers. Carbons also have a faster, and I mean faster, uncoiling effect than the pacers, and the pacer has a slower, but powerful, uncoiling action.
Carbons are generally used for more experienced vaulters. The pacer fx is great for helping teach the basics for beginning and less experienced jumpers. Its (pacer fx) helps train timing and reaction for the vaulters.
Although I cannot explain the disadvantages to the pacers and carbons, I haven't enough expericence on carbon to list them, the advantages are almost identical to each other.

Carbon Mystic's I hope? If you are jumping on pacer carbon's(fx's) then you are holding a LOT higher than me.

i havnt ever jumped on a pacer carbon but ive jumped on essx carbons. i have no idea if they are similar in their recoil speeds, but i didnt think tht the essx recoiled any faster than my spirits

the first time my brother jumped on his 15' pacer carbon he compared the recoil to what it might feel like to be hit by a truck lol. Then again it was a pretty big pole for a little guy.

Tye Harvey, Kellie Suttle, Jim Davis, Bubba Mclean, Daniel Ryland are all on Essx Carbon. I am trying some now too.
What I have noticed. They are lighhhhht, and the difference between them and Pacer, is that you are not getting all the height you need and landing on the crossbar all the time. The ESSX pole moves you into the pits much better, and still has plenty of pop.
