ok so my pole tip was kinda messed up b4 my meet yesterday, like u could see the pole on like one side of it sticking through the tip heh. but ya we had to jump on ti cuase no other tip and its been like that for awhile adn its been fine. but yesterday my pole blew through the tip adn i only took 1 jump on it. im not sure if my teammate was jumping on that pol etoo or not but ya.. now there a part of the tip stuck in the pole, and the rest of it is like a ring aroudn the pole and well i cant use it anymore. so ya tomorrow i have north division champs in my hs league, and next week i have champs. i dont think my coach will order just 1 pole tip without knowing all the other ones to get adn stuff so ya for now i cant really get a replacement till prob next yr. i was wondering if there was something else i could use?... ive seen tennis balls used as them b4?. how does that seem to work?. anyone know. btw my poles a 14' 155 if that means anything?.. also anyone know of a way to get the peice of tip out of the pole.. adn i think theres a little crack on the pole there too.. should i just like put tape around it?/. wat do u all think?. thanx

screw a wood screw into the part that is stuck inside the pole. Grab the screw with a pliers and pull.

First, order a new plug. Until it arrives, after you get the broken piece out using Robert's technique, "borrow" a tip from a pole of the same diameter that is not being used by anyone during the time you need it. They are usually a little bit difficult to get off, but get hold of something like a piece of wood (or you can even use the top end of another pole). Lay the pole down that you want to get the tip out of and slide the wood along the pole for a few inches until it hits the top of the tip you want to remove. Do this all around its perimeter until the tip comes out. Press the tip into the pole you want to use, getting it started straight, then just bounce the pole tip on the ground (pole up in the air) to seat the tip.

Be SURE you do not take a tip from a pole someone plans to use!

I would cowboy up and pay the money yourself to get a new pole tip shipped to you ASAP. New tips are like $7-$8 bucks... add a few dollars for shipping... that's like $10 you need to spend to keep from breaking your pole.

Vaulting on a busted plug can seriously damage the pole. If you already have a crack there, you have obviously already caused damage

I 2nd that. Buy a plug.

I jumped against a guy back in the day who blew through his last tip during the summer and did NOT use a tip at all for the next few weeks. He broke 4 poles in one week and couldn't figure out why. idiot.

I would call Gill Athletics first thing in the morning and they could get you one in probably a day or two. 1-800-637-3090

Or if it's a Spirit pole you could call Spirit at 1-800-537-7117

If it's an Altius or ESSX pole, I would get a replacement plug from UCS or Gill because the soft rubber tips that Altius and ESSX sell bust through pretty easily.
