Ok I am currently jumping on a 13 foot 145lb rating pole and i run about a 12.2 100m. I weigh about 143. When I bend the pole i bend it a little over 90 degrees with the standards all the way back. today in practice i bent the pole and i stalled in mid air and the pole shot me up really slow, a lot different then b4, i lowed my hand grip but i got the same results, i think im running a lot faster now then I used to. Any suggestions on a new pole, i was thinking 14 foot 150 lbs

A 14-150 is too much of a jump . stay with more power do not move to a longer pole!!
By the way what are you clearing with the 13' pole??

a 13' with more power will help you to learn
Pole Vauting is jumping over your hand grip pole jumping is riding the pole up like an elevator and hopping off.
Learn the proper way now so you will enjoy the event and excel with tyle and form.
Lower your grip a bit move to a stronger pole you will get more hip lift and it will be easy to then learn to jump over your handgrip

and if you're stalling out on your jumps... try working more on your plant. that was a big reason why i wasn't able to complete a lot of my jumps during some practices. i was coming around the side and my plant angle was pretty low and my shoulders weren't square to the runway.

i emailed jeff hartwig and he said that a 14 150 would be the best next step pole, its just i would have trouble getting inverted at 1st

a lot of info is needed to fit one to a pole!!!

A lot of info is needed to fit one to a pole!!! And then it is only a guess or assumtion as there are many other combinations unmeasurable that affect the end results.
The pole rule is to select a pole that is not more than 12" longer than the height that you are jumping. there is a reason why that affects timing, double pendulum, and basic vaulitn technigue.
Maybe he did not see you were jumping 12' in order to be fitted to a pole you need the following info

Grip
Best jump
Weight
Style of jumping
without all this info anything said is meaningless
go to www.therightpole.com for more info on how to select a pole
