Just a little some thing i have cooked up the last few weeks, starting to come together....
*I got the mat from Buck Terrell athletics.
*The standards are a 1980 model by pacer, i sanded the rust off and painted them and re did the tracks and wheels, and the pipes.
*I built the runway with lumber its 40" wide and 90 feet long. (no track rubber yet.)
*The sign came compliments to the bar next to the dealership im working at...
....this project was built with the intensions of not being easy and it wasnt... not to cheap either but its worth it to me.. why not? i have some more pictures i will post, not done yet.

if you are a right handed vaulter, you may have a little problem with the tree. unless you are running at the camera in that picture in day 1.
looks great so far tho.

it looks like you live in a jungle.... are you planning on clearing some of that underbrush and overhanging trees?

Make sure you get your setup on Bubba's website. I ordered my runway mat from Fisher Tracks in Boone, Iowa. $2.00 a square foot. I'm getting 81' X 3 feet and I got the 1/2 inch thick stuff It's shipped out of Ohio and I think the whole deal cost about 680 delivered. I had them ship it to the dealership I work at to save something (about $50 or $60) on what it would cost to have it dropped at my house. I'll probably trench this weekend for the buried lines as I plan to light the area too. Coolest thing is about all of this is to be able to put together the backyard set up that we could only dream of when we were kids. Later................Mike

Cool setup. I'd love to try it out.
I've had a lot of luck getting rubber for free. Any factory that uses conveyor belts has them wear out. The worn ones are usually just piled somewhere in a corner. The company is happy for you to just haul them off and get them out of the way.
