NO did not see it on TV Experienced it first hand 20 feet from the pit.

Was video taping and did not finish the taping as it was disturbing and I was concerned. Warm feeling ??? no more concern when anyone breaks a pole no matter the brand!!!

I was there when it happened and I do not like to see any pole break no matter the brand. But as you know many things happen that cause poles to blow up. And as long as you make the poles lighter, and thinner to accommodate World Class jumpers poles are going to get hit, stepped on can break no matter the brand.

As vaulters we take that risk every time we pick up a pole no matter the brand.
Funny no one is talking about the other poles that broke in the trials????

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A broken pole in the decathlon vault may have cost Stephen Moore a spot on the 2004 U.S. Olympic team for Athens, Greece.
( Humm What brand was this?)
Beside let me make note that she picked up an ESSX to finish the meet so if she was concerned she would of barrowed a pole. And she has asked us to build her another to fill in her new GAP.

It did move her to the stiffness pole she needed to make the team. The TV coverage is coverage they always focus on the negative, did not see the TV coverage but heard it was not negative, as now everyone knows she is on ESSX

oh, from watching the trials on tv, the essx exposure will probably be more good than bad. any vaulter knows that poles break, and if a break makes the audience pay attention to the pole more they would have noticed that the subsequent clearance was also on an essx. you guys are obviously doing a good job marketing since i see more and more essx every track season and now you have world class jumpers using your products.

i wasnt worrying about brand too much watching the trials.(though i am a gill fan myself) but the flame label does catch your eye.[/code]

THANK YOU I was clapping for all the vaulters.
Jan's Daughter was vaulting hot and so was April from ARIZ coached by Greg Hull who is also Stacy's coach
I assure you at that level all that made it to the trials should be honored
.

i wasn't implying t hat your poles breaking was a good thing, just that they were getting a lot of TV time. Not that your avereagee Joe is goinig to know or care, but some of the evaulters out there that haveen't been exposed to your brand would be asking, "what brand of pole was that?" We get that all time at meets when we bust out the ESSX sticks.

FYI KELLIE SUTTLE FANS

Unread postby Bruce Caldwell » Tue Jul 20, 2004 12:28 pm

FYI Kellie Suttle fans

Just got off the phone with Kellie!
She says her hand is a little bruised but OK. She said just as she took off there was this gust of wind that threw her whole take-off off, she got caught out and overloaded the pole.

Needs a new ESSX Carbon built ASAP as she is leaving on friday to go to Europe and is ready for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Beto our head engineer is on it today!!!
