NO did not see it on TV Experienced it first hand 20 feet from the pit.
Was video taping and did not finish the taping as it was disturbing and I was concerned. Warm feeling ??? no more concern when anyone breaks a pole no matter the brand!!!
I was there when it happened and I do not like to see any pole break no matter the brand. But as you know many things happen that cause poles to blow up. And as long as you make the poles lighter, and thinner to accommodate World Class jumpers poles are going to get hit, stepped on can break no matter the brand.
As vaulters we take that risk every time we pick up a pole no matter the brand.
Funny no one is talking about the other poles that broke in the trials????

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A broken pole in the decathlon vault may have cost Stephen Moore a spot on the 2004 U.S. Olympic team for Athens, Greece.
( Humm What brand was this?)
Beside let me make note that she picked up an ESSX to finish the meet so if she was concerned she would of barrowed a pole. And she has asked us to build her another to fill in her new GAP.
It did move her to the stiffness pole she needed to make the team. The TV coverage is coverage they always focus on the negative, did not see the TV coverage but heard it was not negative, as now everyone knows she is on ESSX
