UNI-best vault program.
University of Northern Iowa is the Best vault program right now. This is why...No other school placed two vaulters in nationals last year that are returning to nationals this year. UNI also has a 19 footer and another 17'3" guy. Next year they're getting a 16'6" and 17' freshman.

programs across the US
Find a school that fits for you, look for the type of school you want size/location + level of track and PV you are interested in, talk to coaches, talk to some team members... And remember Schools are looking for Student-Athletes not strictly anybody who can jump big bars...
If your willing to work and stay focused, in most programs across the US you can be as good as you want to be.

as i just was in a discussion a few days back about this..
there are good coaches, and good recruiters, make sure you know the difference...
oh, the 19'er from UNI is pauli where UNI is his alma mater, he's doneski in the ncaa, good jumper... the other guys there are 5.45 and 5.35 in the ncaa this year, in europe, i believe they were 5.50, also, good jumpers

Northern Illinois does not have a school record posted for indoor track and their outdoor school record is listed at 8'6". I would say that makes them one of the WORST pole vault schools in the country.

huh? they've got some awesome facilities, but I wouldn't classify IU as having a good vault program in the last 10 years.....
Dino Efthimiou was Big 10 champ and an All-American about 5 years ago, and Ian Curry cracked 5.20m, but other than that, no one else has jumped over 17'. Have they ever had a girl over 4m? In that same time span at Purdue on the guys side, we had a 3 time all american, 1 guy over 18' (18' 5"), 3 more over 17', and 6 Big Ten PV titles. On the girls side, one All American, 5 girls over 4m, and 9 big ten pv titles. Plus numerous NCAA qualifiers...
nothing against the guys down in Bloomington, but I wouldn't call IU one of the top vault programs in the country.....
PoleVaultPlanet is coming.....
