DRAGILA TALKS ABOUT STEROIDS AND SPORTS
Reporter: Doug Andersen

Nearly a half million students nationwide have used unprescribed steroids by their senior year in school.
That seven year old study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse shows continued usage from boys and girls as young as the eighth grade.

While training for a return to international competition, Stacy Dragila says steroids in sports have a negative impact on children in sports.

The two-time Olympian says doping issues receive increased attention on T-V as they displace athletic performance.

Stacy Dragila, 2-time Olympic "role model": "I find it to be a huge problem; I enjoy talking to kids and the future of kids in sports. And while I go talk to kids and this is what they see on T-V, disheartening, so how do you change it back, get kids to think you don't need that stuff to compete and compete fair."

Nationally, the C-D-C says six percent of high school students have experimented with steroids.
