How do you qualify for these national meets. Is there a specific meet that you have to qualify at?

Who's going to the Washington Preview

Who is going to the University of Washington Preview on Jan. 19th? Just curious to see if any fellow 6A Oregon vaulters or if anyone else in general is going.

Wow. Thanks lonestar. Those physics sure help me better understand this. I'm just waiting for a non-rainy day now to put these techniques to the test. Thanks everyone.

Thanks. I'll go ahead and give a try once it's dry enough outside to vault again. :(

The University of Colorado just picked up Lindsey Malone as their new multi and vault coach ... she was the multi and vault coach at Colorado State for a few years and just this year made the move ... "Where her husband is the throws coach" at CU !! .. I took a visit to CSU when Coach Mal...

I know I need to become familiar with them. I don't really have access to a large variety of poles, so I have to stick with the 1 or 2 that my team has for that weight and height. Does anyone know of any good online resources where I can get the basics behind flex numbers and how that effects your v...

I've never quite followed flex numbers, but from what I understand and from experience, Pacer poles seem to be softer than other poles, such as UCS Spirits. What if I were to just "ride" my pole through into the pit and not try to get vertical with it, until I get used to its flex? Would t...

Drop my grip on the 14' one? Wouldn't that make it a lot stiffer?

Adjusting to a bigger pole

I just moved up to a 160 14' Pacer FX pole recently, from a 13'6" Pacer FX, but I am having a little bit of difficulty getting used to this new pole. I was blowing through and really bending the 13'6" pole and landed pretty far back into the pits. But now this 14' pole is a lot stiffer and...

Thanks for the info. I know my PR is not enough to go to a DI school right now, but I'm doing quite a bit of off season practice right now. I'm going to jump onto a bigger pole today as well. I hope to get 15' and up by the time April comes around.

Does Colorado University of Boulder Have PV Program?

I was looking at their stats and didn't come across any current pole vaulters. I don't know if this is correct or not, but as I was looking at their past, it seems as though their track program started in 2001 and since then, they've had only a few vaulters. Currently on their roster, there are no v...
