Deakin Volz jumped 5.45 (17'10.50) for a new HS Boys Indoor Record today in Indiana... only to be broken a few hours later by Paulo Benavides in New Mexico 5.46 (17'11)!

I have always posited that the pole vault is a genetic disorder and not an event in track and field. Clearly Duplantis, Volz, Benavides, Starkey, Payne et al are carriers of the gene. Great to see their kids doing so well.
