Boys vs. girls

Unread postby gpc3 » Wed Nov 13, 2002 3:21 pm

I have found there is generally a 3' difference between HS boys and girls. Sometimes it seems like 4', but that's only when the girls are behind the boys in experience. On the other hand, with beginners it's more like 1 or 2 feet. We've had several meets where the girl winner (11') went higher than ANY boy.
You can never clear a bar you never attempt.

general rule is around 3'06" and 4'. Look at world record, collegiant records, hs records, hs best last years, collegiant best last year, and so on and so forth. All the girls heights are about 3'06-4' lower.

If you even look at entry standards for different meets, a lot of times it is about 4'....Jr. Nationals was 12' for girls and I think 16' for guys... :D
That's Jodie!!

A scripture that makes me think of all you girls and guys pole vaulting....

Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

thee great thing about the girls is that no one girl has made a name for herself as the best in the event. Sure Dragila was good for a while but some other girls have step up to the plate. I wonder in about 10 years or so who will be the "Bubka" of the ladies?

At the NW beach vault elite competitions, we vault together with a 4' bar difference :)

lol i beat out the guys at my school any day! hehe. but that's just a lack of skill not experience (they only vaulted for like a month anyways and then i went back to being by myself). i think that the height diff. is usually about 3'6 feet.

Dragila isn't done yet, i think she might have enough left in her to be thought of as the Bubka of the girls.

Speaking of Stacy, what's going on with her? I haven't heard about her in a long time...

wow, that makes me feel better. i always though the differnce was about 2' and the guys at my school said even that was ridiculus. but i am still in hs so 2' or 3' is probably about right :D
don't worry about life, you're not gonna survive it anyway!
