Rumor has it that they awarded 12 All-America certificates in the men's vault and that the people tied for 10th all got one....Aside from V. Tech, anyone know who the other foreign guy is?

I think its just a rumor i looked at the people who didnt AA at indoors which were :

2 Nick Frawley
2 Jared O'Connor
5 Luke Schoen
6 Robert Caldwell
7 Jeff Coover
8 Johnny Quinn
8 Brian Hancock

All of them are American no one in the top 8 was foreign except for Gena from VT...So i dont know how they could give 12 AA, there were 9 peopel in the top 8 (2 tied for 8th) 8 of which were americans. So i would guess its a rumor.

Thanks buddy....I checked them out too... but check this out....

From www.utsports.com -

"Berry enters the USA Junior Championships with the second-highest pole vault mark in the competition. The Horsham, Pa., native was named SEC Freshman Field Athlete of the Year following a season that included him becoming the first freshman since 1997 to win the conference pole vault title. Berry also won the Mideast Region pole vault crown and earned All-America status last week in his first national championship meet. His personal-best clearance of 17-9 ranks ninth on Tennessee’s all-time performance list."

From www.hogwired.com -

Spencer McCorkel in the pole vault and Peter Kosgei in the 3,000-meter steeplechase both earned All-America honors and Nkosinza Balumbu advanced to the finals for Arkansas Razorback track and field on day three of the NCAA Championships at Drake Stadium.

From www.hornetsports.com

Sacramento State senior Daniel Imlach earned All-America honors in the men’s pole vault at the 2008 NCAA Div. I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday

Apparently these schools think their vaulters earned All-America status? I would be suprised if ALL of them were misinformed... Can anyone explain this to me?

Unfortuantely there was an error in the intial list of All-Americans sent out. That is the problem with the information age... good news, bad news, wrong news, it all travels fast. Dan is a senior who had a great year and the other two extremely talented youngsters have lots of All-American awards ahead of them.
