At the "Kickoff Classic" at Arkansas State today, polevaultpower's own Becca "RainbowGirl28" Gillespy jumped a season-opening 10'6, her best jump all fall from a 5 stride/10 step.

Well the girls jumped alright but the guys except a few sucked! :mad:

yeah i thought it would be a much better comp but not much you can do about it now

That's Erica Hall in the picture. She jumped really well considering she has been hurt all fall and only jumped twice before this meet. She cleared 10-6 from 8 steps :yes:

I cleared 10-6 from 10 steps, and I'm pretty happy with that. :) It's a season best and it would be a provisional qualifier for my national meet... if I was eligible (I'm only a part-time student right now). Oh well, I'll just jump 11-0 in January and get the auto.

My teammates all did pretty well. They've only vaulted about 5 times before the meet and were on 6-10 steps. John got a provisional qualifier with his 15-0 jump.

looks like it was a good time... i was surprised to see Amy on the score sheet! if she really jumped 11 after her whole shoulder deal, i am impressed! :yes:

Nope. I forgot the camera in Texas :(

My teammate was taking some, but I don't think she got any action shots.
