I'm gonna go ahead and say that that is John Takahashi.

AHHHH!!!! Thanks for the insight. Takahashi had a much different experience at Cal Poly than myself, or Sean Brown, Logan Nichols, Kris Mack, and Joe Koenig. We all had each other to compete with and hang around; it was more like Cal Poly in the early 90's when Jan was the coach, and he had a very competitive vault squad.

Unfortunately, Takahashi had to jump by himself most of the time and really wasn't afforded the full experience (on and off the track) that we had. We actually felt sorry for Jon not having a group of guys who he could really relate to competitively.

Of course I didn't forget about Travis. You're right, he did not vault with the group I mentioned, he was just after me. That's the only reason I didn't mention him.

BJ, ask Travis if he remembers the night I took he and Joe out to Mother's Tavern. He'll never forget that night. We gave him a glimpse of the oustside-the-track life that we experienced for four years.

There are numerous vaulters I could mention that lasted for 2-3 years, but were basically forced out because they couldn't make the traveling squad. I'm talking 15'6" to 16'4" vaulters that were 5th or 6th best on our team (Joel Kirwinski, Sean Lopez, etc...)
