Stanford adds to cushion in U.S. Sports Academy Directors' Cup

Stanford widened its lead over Michigan to 107.75 points in the Division I race for the United States Sports Academy Directors' Cup with only baseball left to count in the standings.
The Cardinal have 1,075 points after claiming the national championship in women's tennis and finishing second in women's water polo. The most recent championships went to Duke in women's golf, Northwestern in women's lacrosse, California in women's rowing, UCLA in women's water polo and Pepperdine in men's volleyball.
The United States Sports Academy Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA TODAY. The United States Sports Academy, based in Daphne, Ala., is in its first year sponsoring the program. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports â€â€
