some great performances at acc's

Unread postby VTechVaulter » Sun Feb 26, 2006 10:06 pm

well as much as this was a personally disappointing weekend for me, i do have to congratulate 4 individuals who i thought really jumped great this weekend.

first and foremost mitch greeley. Mitch is a good guy and a good friend of mine who had a super jump at 5.36 which eventually won the competition. had a number of clutch third attempt clears. so congrats buddy, and i look forward to seeing you at nationals

second my teammate joe samaniuk, who prd by 25 centimeters. pr going in was 4.95 meters, cleared 5.0, 5.10, and 5.20 to cap off a great indoor season for him

and finally another good friend of mine andrew kessler, who pred by 15 centimeters after taking nearly 2 years off vaulting. season pr going into the meet was 4.75, opened at 4.90 and made it, and the next 2 bars. for fourth place with 5.10 meters

also a florida state vaulter, not sure of his name, pulled out a lifetime PR at 16', clearly a guy ahving a great time out there.

soo congrats everyone, and good luck the rest of the year

Thanks Bmon, drew kess here. It felt good to final get over a couple of bars. That was the first time all year that I jumped anything besides my opening height in compy. I hated to see you go out so low. It just wasn't right, but i am sure that if you only had one more big jump left in indoor that you would rather save it for NATY'S. Best of luck. Tell Joe that i hope he takes care of that metal, and to enjoy that all conference status.

Kessler! when I saw the results from the ACC and saw your name on it I thought I was seeing things. Good to see you are back jumping again. Congrats to all the great performances, especially Joe Sam! I tried to call you buddy, but realized I dont have your number anymore.

B Mon, the florida state vaulter in question who cleared 4.90 is Charlie Cotton, son of the great Mike Cotton who jumped 17'8" in the early 70's. Charlie has been good enough to clear that height for a while and he really chose the right time to do it.

Watch out for charlie cotton in the future...I predict good things from him. You heard it here first.
