TreyDECA,
I think Lacy is about as fast as you are on the runway. She looked great today!!!!!
Opened at 4.00 and skied it by two feet.
Had a freshman decathlete from WakeForest run a 47.7? today. Ran a 46.80 leg on the 4 x 4 last week at SeaRay.

Congrats to Lacy! I was the most impressed with her at indoor nationals and she sure does bring it down the runway! She's not done....she's gonna go a lot higher!

According to her teammate -- polecat -- she didn't have the best form, just had her hand grip at the right spot and good speed. Now if she has some great form & speed and great conditions, she WILL go higher!

She was very impressive at indoors. I am pretty sure she isn't done moving the record up. Congrats :)

FSU's Lacy Janson Breaks NCAA Pole Vault Record In Taking Fourth ACC Crown

The five-time All-American becomes the second women in NCAA history to clear 15-feet.

April 20, 2006

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The first day (April 20) of the 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships started on a great note for the Florida State (No. 1/1) men's and (No. 15/16) women's track and field teams in Winston-Salem, N.C. Redshirt senior Lacy Janson (Sarasota, Fla./Cardinal Mooney) won her fourth crown with a height of 15'0.25" (4.58m) in shattering a handful of records and moving up in the world rankings as the number two pole vaulter on the planet.

Janson had a banner day, winning her fourth Atlantic Coast Conference crown at the outdoor championships meet in grand fashion -- setting the NCAA (Chelsea Johnson - 15'/4.57m - 2004), ACC-meet (Lacy Janson - 14'/4.27m - 2002), FSU all-time (Lacy Janson - 14'7.25"/4.45m - 2006) and Kentner Stadium track (Suzanne Makison - 3.65m -2002) records. The five-time All-American becomes the second women in NCAA history to clear 15-feet and holds the highest collegiate mark ever. UCLA's Chelsea Johnson cleared 15-feet (4.57m) in 2004.

Janson is two weeks removed from her Texas Relays event win, that set the previous school record at 14'7.25" (4.45m). She is the only woman in league history to win four indoor and outdoor pole vault titles.

The women's team is tied for first place with Virginia Tech at 17 points. The men are in eighth (three points) through three events scored.
