Any advice for someone trying to learn to pole vault! I have the unfortunate circumstance of having my husband as my coach (and I am probably not his finest student).
My problem is I don't have much opportunity to learn to vault and limited places to do it! Any "casual" learning atmospheres out there?

OK here we go! There are so many people out there that have trouble finding the time and place to practice thevault. Here are a few good tips of advice: Revers sit ups (kick feet up in the air) are a great workout to do whenever a commercial comes when your watching tv. Also get a big peice of pvc pipe and practice pole plants where ever there is a wall, millions of pole plants start with like a three step or two step and over time slowly move back to a five or six step. Watch pv video as much as you can, get the image of the perfect vault stuck in your mind so you cant even get it out if you want to. Before you go to sleep at night imagine the perfect vault in your mind about 10 times, even count your steps if you have to. You have to get down the mental aspect of the vault before you get to the physical aspect. Visit many pole vault sites for more advise and get down a system. Do it every day and soon it will just become a part of every day life. The harder u work, the more fun you have in competition.
Just fly high, and KISS THE SKY!!!
that sounds like what i do
I do almost every thing you just mentiond except for the video cuz i do have much video. But i go through my head almost all the time what iwant my vaults to looklike.

You should talk to Dick and see what he is going to be doing. Last year they didn't actually get to vault indoors, but they did jump under the stadium, which was at least dry.
I my husband and all but we make a rotten coach/student team
LOL you guys are funny. You are doing a great job though!
