zack wrote:I thought it was interesting how he wouldn't debate anybody without knowing the questions first. Plus whenever he was asked about his fiscal policies he would be really vague. I wouldn't have voted for him but it will be interesting to see what he can do. Maybe he'll be able to help solve some problems maybe not. Interesting that he isn't a typical republican b/c hes fiscally conservative but socially liberal.

i tend to agree with you. he just never took a stance on any of the issues, and unfortunately that entire recall turned into charachter debate after charachter debate, and some how arnold came out on top :dazed: and i know i havn't really given him a chance, but honestly, what qualifications does he have to be govenor?plus i just thought it was intresting that he really never did answer any questions unless he got to prepare for them first. i just feel like cailfornia is in a serious financial crisis, and somehow i get the inkling that arnold has no idea what a finacial crisis is.

I havent followed much of the governor recall stuff, but I look at it like this:

Hes NOT a politician, so i think what he wants to do, is really what he WANTS to do. He has no need to get ready to be re-elected or anything else. There is defenitely no hidden agenda with him. Hes defenitely NOT in it for the money, as he is a gillionaire. He will most defenitely surround himself with the best advisors he can. its TRUE that he may not be qualified, but he wont be making the decisions, he will have an advisor that does all of the " smart " work for him. He'll just get the credit.

So i think it will be a descent year. He is inheriting all of dick-head davis's problems, so it will take a while for any improvement to start, but in the end, i think it will be a much better State.

Sometimes I think we would all be better off without politicians with "experience!" What is their experience anyway? How to campaign is what their experience is...whose ego to soothe, whose butt to kiss, who to promise what to.... What any state needs is someone with business sense. After all, isn't that what any government is?... A business! Arnold probably has plenty of experience managing large amounts of money...HIS OWN...and keeping from getting ripped off, maintaining a good public image, etc. Maybe that was Ronald Reagan's plus also.
