Anyone know of any Winter Vault Camps in Texas

Unread postby pcCMC8905 » Tue Aug 16, 2005 8:37 pm

Me and about 9 other vaulters from NY go o vacation every winter to someplace WARM :D , to go to a good pole vault camp. Last year we went to Orlando and vaulted at a training center, and the year b4 for that was Cali, then Reno b4 that. This year we r thinking about Texas but we need to find a good pole vault camp there. Anybody got any suggestions or know of any good winter camps. (a camp that would be during a break from scholl so we don't fall behind)

If you are anywhere near San Marcos (between Austin and San Antonio), Kris Allison always has clinics going on.

OTOH, it isn't all that warm in Texas in the winter, although I understand that everyone has a different definition of cold. Even in Houston, it isn't unusual for the temperature to get into the high 20's (that's Fahrenheit) if there is a cold front rolling through.

I'm in The Woodlands, about 40 miles north of Houston. Weather can be cold and rainy. George may be the best shot at good consistent conditions. He's in the Dalls/Fort Worth area. Bubba

I would say, George if your just have to come to Texas. He's a great coach and has a new indoor place. There is Earl Bell's in North East Arkansas.

Lone Star Pole Vaulting is working on obtaining an indoor facility and should have it locked up sometime in November. We will do a Christmas break camp, dates to be announced in a few weeks.
