Lewisville track coach Ray White is convinced pole vaulter Kelly Wilson is one of the best athletes at the school.

Lewisville's Kelly Wilson has taken his athletic talent up a notch. Wilson, a sprinter and triple jumper, vaulted 15 feet, 1 inch to win the Max Goldsmith Relays last week.

He came to this conclusion not from watching Wilson on the track or field.

"He can do all sorts of things on the gymnastics rings," White said.

And at a track meet. The junior runs a leg in the 4x100-meter relay and the 4x400 relay and has triple jumped. But the pole vault is becoming his specialty. He vaulted 15 feet, 1 inch to win last week at the Max Goldsmith Relays.

"He's really come on this last year," White said. "We knew he was going to be good. He just needed to mature physically and mentally. He's vaulted well the last two or three meets."
