Games of Texas returning to Waco

Last week London landed the Olympic Games for 2012. Next week Waco will host its own mini-Olympics.

The Games of Texas, the state's largest multi-sport amateur athletic festival, returns to Waco for the record fifth time with action beginning on July 21. City park and recreation officials expect more than 7,500 athletes and at least 10,000 spectators to attend the annual event.

But why Waco? What makes the city such a hot spot for the Games of Texas?
