Hermes wins pole vault at USAmeet

ELGIN - Victoria's Kristi Hermes won the pole vault in the young women's division Saturday at a USA Track & Field meet.
Hermes, a senior at Memorial who will compete at the UIL state meet on Saturday, cleared 11 feet, 6 inches, to equal her best vault of the season.
Victoria's Colton Brownson finished third in the youth boys pole vault. Brownson cleared 9-6, which is over the national qualifying standard. Brownson also finished second in the 200 hurdles in a time of 29.73.
