Sewell qualifies for USA Indoor Championships
Former SHSU pole vaulter heading to Boston this weekend

Even though she isn’t wearing the orange and white anymore, former Sam Houston State pole vault star Jennie Sewell is still going strong.
Sewell recently qualified for the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships that will be held this weekend at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston.
The Rockwall High School product, who currently lives in Bellington, Wash., reached the qualifying height by vaulting 4.11 meters in an exhibition at the Simplot Games, one of the nation’s premier high school track and field meets, in Pocatello, Idaho this past weekend.
“I had competed in three other meets before this one and things weren’t working out very well,â€
