Re: Drake Relays Mall Vault
OK bar to 4.75m, Hutson misses her first attempt. Not super close, she's going to have to dig a little deeper.

Re: Drake Relays Mall Vault
So where does 4.70m put Kylie on the USA All-Time Indoor list?
Stuczynski has the record, Dragila at 4.81, Schwartz at 4.72... anyone else at 4.70+ indoors?

Hutson's second attempt at 4.75m is closer! A miss though.

Welcome to the club, Kylie Hutson.
The former NCAA champion for Indiana State achieved a personal goal Wednesday by soaring over the 15-foot barrier — not once, but three times — during a pole vault competition at Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines.
“I wanted to be in that 15-foot club so bad,” said the 5-foot-5 Hutson. “I didn’t know what to think, or what was going through my mind.
“I was just like, 'What is going on?’ ”

Hutson, who owned a previous best of 14 feet 9 inches, peaked at 15-5 — the best female performance ever in an event connected with the Drake Relays.
“I came in here with a positive attitude,” Hutson said. “I heard it was an amazing place to jump, and I truly believe that now.”
More than 2,500 spectators, including former Gov. Robert Ray, surrounded the vaulting venue.
The runway took vaulters past the guest services booth, and the landing pit was kitty-corner from Victoria’s Secret.
Hutson secured the spotlight in the coed team competition.
Her partner, Brad Walker, cleared 18-11/4, giving them a two-person total of 33-6¼.
Mark Hollis and Lacy Janson placed second at 32-8¼.
“I just sat back and enjoyed watching her,” Walker said of Hutson.
“Anytime a person has those kinds of PRs and big bars, it’s just fun to watch.”
This was the first time women competed in Jordan Creek, and Hutson’s top vault was more than 2½ feet better than the winning outdoor mark of 1997, when females made their Drake debut.
“What she just cleared is actually medal potential at the world championships,” Walker said.
“For her to PR at heights like that is really impressive.”
Janson, who cleared 15-1, said the event was “the most fun I’ll probably have all year.
“The closeness of the crowd, the music, just the whole atmosphere was really awesome.”
Derek Miles, who placed fourth at the 2008 Olympics, led the men, making his third and final attempt at 18-5¼.
“It kind of comes down to motivation,” Miles said of facing elimination. “Just that little extra energy.”
Hutson fed off the adrenaline rush of each successful attempt.
She missed just once while advancing through the first seven heights.
“It just depends on how your legs are feeling,” Hutson said, “and what your body is doing at the time.”
Stacy Dragila still holds the official Relays meet record of 15-1¾, set in 2003. But Hutson’s rivals were impressed with her focus on Wednesday.
“It tough to hang in there,” Janson said. “You get that first PR, and then you’re like, 'I’ve done it. I can relax.’
“She didn’t. She kept it together and jumped even higher.”

I am not sure she had her 4.75-4.85 poles ready for this meet; next time she will have to check with her supplier further ahead of time (and I bet they will be listening)
