athletes who currently have the A standard

Unread postby Skyin' Brian » Fri Jun 11, 2004 8:08 pm

these are the athletes who can make it to the olympics currently if they place top 3 in trials. if an athlete who doesnt have the A standard cracks the top 3 somehow would need to achieve a 565 jump some time before athens:

POLE VAULT (5.65/18-6 1/2)
Russ Buller (Asics)
Eric Eshbach (Nb)
Jeff Hartwig (Nik)
Tye Harvey (NYAC)
Nick Hysong (Nik)
Lawrence Johnson (adi)
Tim Mack (Nik)
Bubba McLean (Bell)
Derek Miles (Nik)
Justin Norberg (Shore)
Jeremy Scott (Alleg)
Tommy Skipper (Or)
Scott Slover (Nik)
Toby Stevenson (Nik)
Paul Terek (WGAD)
Brad Walker (unat)

that is 16 guys. i think usa has like 3 or something that have hit the a standard in the 15 so the vault is doing quite well in the usa. of course i doubt that terek will enter the trials for the vault.
sure are a lot of nike athletes

I thought the A standard went up to 5.70 or 5.75. But, the B standard lowered to 5.50
Can somebody confirm that's the case?

yeah, the numbers you just gave for are for the trials. what i posted are the athletes over the A standard for the olympics
so, assuming all of the athletes above simply need to get top 3 at trials  to go to the olympics
