Modesto means a lot to O'Brien, Stevenson

Pole vault star Toby Stevenson proclaimed his affection for the Modesto Relays at the Downtown Rotary Club meeting on Tuesday.

Toby Stevenson has pole vaulted in front of 70,000 people in Paris. Dan O'Brien won an Olympic gold medal in the decathlon in Atlanta.
They were side by side at the head table Tuesday for a Modesto Rotary Club luncheon talking about the 66th Coca-Cola Modesto Relays on May 5 at Modesto Junior College, and loving it.

All tables were full at the DoubleTree in downtown Modesto and the occupants attentive and entertained.

That's what makes the Modesto Relays so special to O'Brien and Stevenson â€â€
