Just curious about something. If they would have used the jump-off with the 2nd and 3rd places, would they have been able to pass the first place finisher. It's been my understanding that during a jump-off a vaulter can keep going after the tie has been broken. Is that true? Anyways my ? i guess was, if both guys made the height and went to the height that the winner made would the winner be brought into the jumpoff? Am i just thinking too much?

That's correct, that did happen. The 3rd though 8th finishers have not jumped the standard for worlds, so despite their placing, the alternate has to be awarded to the highest placing athlete who HAS jumped the standard.
Britni finished her high school season winning her District, Regional, and State Meets on a broken takeoff ankle/foot. She took over 6 weeks off after state, had 2 short practices before this meet, and her ankle is still not healed. She competed in a lot of pain and still managed a bar and an alternate spot on the world team. I'm very proud of her courage.
This was the last meet for me to coach her, and she's moving on to a great team at Texas Tech to work with Coach Don D. Hood. Just wanted to say thanks Brit for all the fun and excitement these last 3 years and we're gonna miss you out here at the "Allison PV Ranch."

THANKS Kris!! These last 3 years have been awesome!! I am definitely going to miss it out there at the PV Ranch, but I'll be around! Sorry our last meet had to be a rough one, but I'm just too stubborn to know when to stop! Thanks for EVERYTHING! You're an AWESOME coach!!

###No, once the tie is broken, the competition between the 2nd&3rd jumpers is over.
It would be quite unusal to have this height be greater than the actual winner but it could happen.
