No, my dad competed for a couple more years but then broke his back twice and had to have bones fused in his back. He coached for many years after that and didn't have kids until '82 when I was born.

Your dad was one of the fastest guys to ever pole vault. He would still be one of the fastest guys around even today.

no he never pushed me into track or vaulting, but I decided myself I wanted to do it...and I think I got my dad's talent of speed, cuz that's my biggest advantage...SPEED.
