Yelena Isinbayeva has heard many things about New York. She has heard that those who visit New York for the first time tend to fall in love with it. But on the ride from the airport to her hotel, she saw nothing of interest, none of the designer shops or gourmet restaurants she would like to visit, and certainly not the Statue of Liberty.

Gymnastics in Pole Vault
Mr Weireb wrote a nice article but showed he knows little about track. A large percentage of the women in pole vault have a gymnastic background.
