This will actually be the first year we have incorporated a street vault with the festival. I am expecting to have 50+ vaulters, but I will have a cut off on the open sections if the field gets too big due to time constraints. I would recommend sending your entries before May 1st to be sure you have a spot.
I am contacting numerous 'elite' vaulters in hopes they may decide to come jump. In a few weeks as I get more entries I will start to post some of the jumpers you can expect to see at this meet.
On the Mens side we currently have vaulters with PR's of 18', 17'10, 17'7, 17'1, 16'10, 15'7 (HS).
I will also post the bands that will be performing, last year we had about 15 bands throughout the course of the festival.

*********UPDATE***********
We will be having prize money for our Elite Section of the Street Vault.
Prizes will be paid as follows:
1st: $1,500.00
2nd: $750.00
3rd: $350.00
4th: $250.00
5th: $150.00
Bonus: $500.00 if the winner's performance scores 1200 or more points on the IAAF scoring table (5.81m for men or 4.83m for women)
Notice: Prize money is only available for post collegiate athletes. If you are in college you may compete in the Elite section (must be unattached), but will not be allowed to accept any prize money.
This Elite competition will be combined with men and women and will be based on the IAAF scoring tables, placing is determined by the athlete whose vault is worth the most points. (there is basically a 90-100 centimeter spread between each men’s and women’s height)
For example,
An 18ft jump for men scores 1110 points for a female competitor to win she must jump a bar that scores more than 1110 points (eg. 4.58m or higher).
Secondly, we are making an entry deadline of May 13th for all athletes, but if the maximum field size is reached before this date I will be unable to accept your entry, so please enter as early as possible.
If you are an Elite athlete who would like to compete in this meet please send me an email at chrissteddum@hotmail.com. The Elite field will be limited and will be chosen at the meet coordinators discretion, so ask nicely
. We will be able to provide some housing for Elites, but it will be limited and first come, first serve.
Lastly,
I will be hosting 2 more meets the Wednesday and Saturday following the Street Vault, so any athlete who would like to have 3 good competitions over the course of the week is welcome to hang around and compete in all 3 meets.

Hello Vaulters,
I wanted to give a few last updates.
First,
I wanted to remind everyone we want all entries in by May 13th so we can set the fields and our time schedule so everyone has a chance to jump.
Secondly,
By tonight or tomorrow morning our website:
http://www.crawfishstreetvault.com, should be up and running.
You will be able to process your entry online if you prefer, and order tee shirts and extra tickets to the festival as well. We will also have a limited number of Dri-fit tee shirts for sale pre-order only. You can still mail payments and entries if you prefer to pay by check
If you have any questions please shoot me an email at chrissteddum@hotmail.com

Chris,
I would love come jump in the street vault, unfortunately we have our state championships for private schools that day. What time do you think the open men’s open pole vault will begin? You do a great job with the meets you have hosted. If anyone gets a chance, they should compete in the meets in Columbia, South Carolina. It is fun and very vault friendly.

I would guess the open men will start sometime between 1:00-2:00. The goal is to start the Elite comp no later than 6:00pm so that we are done before we lose daylight. The open / HS men looks like it will be the largest section so I would like to start it around 1:00pm. I will post our schedule hopefully by the Tuesday prior to the meet. It will be a rolling schedule though and as soon as one section ends the next will take the runway for warm ups.
