It may be a long way from working high school track meets in western Wisconsin to officiating at the Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, but for Boyceville resident Donna Zirgibel, it seemed to be a natural progression, getting to the highest level of track and field competition in the United States.
Donna was notified while working a meet in Hawaii that she was selected to be an official in the pole vault competition for the trials to be held June 27 through July 6.
“I was thrilled when I found out,â€Â

I've worked with Donna a number of times over the years. She basically convinced me that the laser measuring device was the way to go in the PV.
Once thing for sure, only having one arm to steady and accurately measure the bar is not a problem for her. I still struggle a bit with two.
Good luck at the trials.
