Seasonal Bests and Qualification

Unread postby roger/over » Fri Jul 04, 2008 12:49 pm

Interesting to note that with just two exceptions, they could have skipped the qualifying round and just moved the twelve vaulters with highest seasonal bests to the finals. Nikole McEwen had a SB of 4.40 and is out. Erica Bartolina had a SB of 4.30 and is in. Otherwise, the line-up for the finals is just a list of vaulters who have done 4.40 or better in the outdoor season.

This year, the NCAA could have just skipped all of the preliminary rounds of the college DI basketball tournament, and simply put the 4 #1 seed in the Final Four.

Call me old-fashioned, but I think that going ahead and contesting the preliminary rounds is a positive thing for sports in general.

Many of the ladies could make the team.
Some surprises may be in store for us to watch!
Erica has been coming on strong and improving every meet.
Tracy and Chelsea are getting stronger and looking better coming back from injury's
Jillian is alway tough in the big meets and so is Dragila
April and Jennifer have had big jumps
Becky has improved her technique too
It will be a great meet for sure and one you will not want to miss.
good luck to all the vaulters you are the best USA has to offer
May the best Woman win
