OK I don't know how serious she was, but it would be cool if she did!

She wants to be at her best because she knows this might be her last Olympic heptathlon competition.

"I don't know how long I'll compete in the heptathlon, it's a lot on your body as you get older," she said with a pause, then a smile. "But that doesn't mean I'm done. Not at all. Next summer, I'm learning the pole vault."

Smith sat next to her and grinned:

"She will, too."
