Jenny Soceka 4.36

Last night at the Wisconsin Track Club meet Jenny Soceka vaulted in an attempt to qualify for USATF, since her SB of 4.22 was not quite high enough to get in (I think). She started at 3.96, then 4.11, then 4.26, all first attempt. Then she made 4.36 on her second (completely clean) and then had two very good attempts at 4.46 (if she put the bottom of the second with the top of the first, she would have been over).

Saw her at regionals. Athletically, she was among the most impressive women. She does have some serious technical issues that she'll have to resolve if she wants to jump higher than the 14's.
"You have some interesting coaching theories that seem to have little potential."
