It's nice to see that the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame has Don Bragg listed as one of its 39 nominees.

Bragg, the former Penns Grove High and Villanova star, won a pole-vault gold medal in the 1960 Olympics. He went into the United States Track & Field Hall of Fame in 1996.

While Bragg will have a difficult time being elected to the Philadelphia Hall, he should feel honored to be mentioned on the ballot with such area legends as Earle "Greasy" Neal, Al Simmons, Roy Campanella, Eddie Collins, Ed Delahanty, Joe Fulks, Hal Greer, Harry Litwack, Reggie Jackson, Earl Monroe, Jack Ramsay and Fred Shero.

Voting ends Dec. 2, and the third induction class will be honored in April. Nominees that are on 70 percent of the ballots are elected.
