Howdy folks - it is with great pleasure that we officially announce that the 2006 York Beach Vault is ON this year. YES! What a great way to end the season - we set up a wooden runway right on Long Sands Beach in York, ME and vault right next to the Atlantic Ocean.
Here's some of the specifics :
This year the Beach Vault East is on Saturday Sept 9th - the Saturday after Labor Day.
You need to be a USATF Member in order to vault. You can sign up for USATF memebrship online at https://www.usatf.org/membership/application/index.asp or at the event check-in table prior to the event
you will also need to fill out an entry form. These can also be found online at http://www.patriotpv.com/BeachVaultEntryForm2006.doc or at the event check-in table.
The cost is $30 per athlete ($20 for collegians)

"Will vault for food"
Jessica Sullivan, a senior at Norwich Free Academy, Norwich, CT, won the Women's Open division of the York Beach Vault today, with a vault of 10'6". Sullivan, the 2005 and 2006 CT State Class LL Chammpion, then had two excellent attempts at 11'0" but couldn't coax the bar to stay up. She appeared to have about 3-4 inches over the bar on her final attempt, but just brushed the bar off of the pegs on the way down.
Sunny skies, temperatures in the low 80's, and a very nice tailwind combined to produce very favorable conditions.
I don't know anythingt about the other results. Vault'n Gus, do you have them?
