Spring forward
Seager Wilson has the Northrop vaulting stage to himself this season

On the day of last season’s North Side Relays, Northrop pole vaulter Seager Wilson made a few practice jumps and then cleared 15 feet, 9 inches. It’s too bad the vault didn’t count toward the Bruins’ team score on the day; it came at the team’s vaulting pit at Northrop High School.
It was that kind of season for Wilson, who spent the year behind Brandon Schneider and James Martzall. Schneider placed second in the state finals, while Martzall placed first. At most meets last season, Bruins coach Bob Shank was limited to vaulting just Schneider and Martzall, with Wilson the odd man out. After spending his junior season in the shadows of Schneider and Martzall, Wilson has Northrop’s pole vaulting stage all to himself this season.
“Obviously, it’s going to be a big change not having their leadership there,â€Â
