UNK to host youth clinics
KEARNEY -- The Nebraska-Kearney track team will hold two youth clinics the next two Sundays (Feb. 4th and Feb. 11th) in Cushing Coliseum. The clinics will be then followed by a high school open meet on Feb. 18th.
The clinics are for boys and girls ages 13 and up (grades 9-12 for pole vault) and are designed to develop individuals skills in the following event areas; shot put/discus, high/long/triple jumps, sprints and hurdles and distance/mid-distance training.
The cost is $ 40 for both sessions or $ 25 for one session. Both clinics will run from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with registration beginning at noon in Cushing.

The open meet will begin at 1:30 p.m. with field events with running events starting at 2 p.m. It is for any high school athlete (grades 9-12) and, by NSAA rule, they cannot wear their high school uniforms.
The cost is $ 5 per event with a maximum of $ 10 per athlete. Registration is from noon to 1:15 p.m. on the day of the meet.
