She's probably just done so many reps in the gym vault that it's a hard habit for her to break in any other event.

She said because the approach run is similar and they frequently jump off of two feet on a spring board at the end of the run. plus the legs need to be in line together etc.. when they are in the air.

Oh ... OK. I thought it was on her takeoff ... the step BEFORE the two-footed springboard. Now I see.

I'm sure that also explains her short penultimate ... a bit.

Maybe you should tell her that PV is like the step BEFORE the "springboard". ;)

I'm thinking that she has some UNLEARNING to do ... before she start LEARNING how to PV. If that's the case, I'd include LJ practice before PV practice ... driving the lead knee. It gets more complicated with a pole in her hands ... so if she can rid herself of the habit WITHOUT a pole first ...

She just jumped 10' "with out turning" :confused: almost made 10'6" still from the same run and "trip off" on a 11'4 125.
