.What exactly does bench press have to do with pole vaulting? The movement is slow and non related to actual movements in the vault

As a freshman in High School I put up 200 but during football season I really screwed up my shoulder so I couldn't lift for about a year. I just started lifting again like a week ago and I havn't maxed yet because I don't want to depress myself. I'm guessing somewhere around 180 since I still did some maintenace lifting while I was hurt. If we are talking biceps then mine is 15" around. Not bad for a 15 year old if I do say so myslef.
