40yd times

40yd times

whats a good time for 40yd for frosh/soph guys and varsity guys. i cant really get a feeling on how fast guys are when they tell me their 40 time.

I'm not really sure as far as high school but a 4.5 or 4.6 40 I would think would be considered real good. You also have to consider wether they ran on grass or the track. A 4.2 in the pro's is considered fast. My junior year of college I ran a 4.38 on the track.
