unhappy elbow

Unread postby pvtaz » Thu Apr 09, 2009 8:39 pm

I somehow managed to injure my elbow two weeks ago clearing a crossbar.
The first attempt: got up to a sitting position off the pit...bar falls off, hits funnybone :P my right one
Second attempt: kicked it off
Third attempt: pole knocks bar off. I got off the pit and my arm started to hurt like no other
I told my coach that I couldn't keep vaulting cuz my elbow hurt. I went to the athletic trainer who gave me ice and said I probably strained it...he couldn't get me to relax my arm to fully assess it. He said no vaulting for at least a week
I took last week off and am just getting back into the swing of things today. It starts to hurt intermittently throughout the day...other possible injuries I could have? Should I lay off the vaulting some more? I've been icing and taking ibuprofen after practise
Don't eat the crossbar.

I would do whatever Coach Martin tell you to do. He is one of the top coaches in the State of California. He has a permanent seat at the State Meet.
