How many bungees?

Myself and a couple friends have gone back and forth on this...

Given at one practice you have athletes ranging from 6ft PR all the way up to 14ft PR's ... is it acceptable (read: Safe or Wise) to have more than 2 bungees up at once time, considering the differences in the athlete's heights that they can jump?

Should be OK as long as the standards are bolted down.

I used to jump at a club that usually had 5 or more, usually starting at something like 8' and going to 16'. In practices I like four, two for the guys and two for the girls.

Assuming they can be set 4-6 feet apart, 2 is all you need. You've got lots of jumpers, have them stay by the pit to raise/lower the standards for the next couple of jumps after they finish their turn.

Can it be attached to all kinds of standards? It looks like, from the video, that in order for the two sides to correspond, is the line connected above the standards.

I made a simpler, and much cheaper system, having 2 individual lines. One on each side. Sure, I need to pull on both sides, but it set me back less than 50$, and takes 1 minute to set up, and can be attached to any type of standard. All it took, was 20m of suitable rope (I use a 8mm climbing rope), 4 pulleys, 2 keyrings, 2 small climbing hooks and 2 elastic fasteners (like the ones used on roof racks)).

The line is continuous. To keep the standards seperated there is a crossbar across the top. Bungee is connected to the rope on each side that moves in the same direction.. If you are handy you can build whatever you design. If not, buy it.
