IAAF: 17:58 Moderator - Afternoon everyone, the men's long jump final will be underway soon, and the men's pole vault not long after that.
17:58 Moderator - Steve Hooker IS on the track, and dressed to vault.

IAAF: 18:03 Moderator - There are a whopping fifteen men in the pole vault final. This may be a long event.

Only if those fancy automatic standards break... or if they lower the opening height like they did for the women.

Looks like they are sticking with 5.50 as opening height. So far Hooker is listed as passing to 5.75. Maybe he feels good enough to come in a little lower, or maybe he'll just wait to see how many are in at that height.

They still haven't started, not sure why. It looks like Hooker is the only one passing any heights.

IAAF: 18:17 Moderator - It's sunny, scattered clouds, 22C. No torrential rain predicted, temps a little cool for sprinting but otherwise pleasant.
18:17 k - hello Berlin, what is the weather today?

I also lost my sound, but I just reloaded the video and it came back.

Not sure why Lavillenie likes coming in so low. He came in fairly low in prelims too. I guess he is young and healthy and can afford to take more jumps!

Lavillenie makes 5.50 on his first, of course.

Miss for Gibilisco. They haven't shown any video yet, just focusing on the track races and the long jump right now.

A make for Mesnil on his first attempt. We could definitely see two Frenchmen with medals in this event. All three made the final.
