Re: Brussels Golden League 9/5
Wow... way more pole vault coverage already than we got for Zurich.
Nice third attempt clearance by Erica at her 4.40 opener.
LOL for Isi taking the last 3 covered seats for her afternoon nap.
And the first ever interesting shot from the "box camera": Golubchikova's pole bouncing away like a pogo stick after her 2nd attempt bail-out.

Re: Brussels Golden League 9/5
Rough jumping in the rain so far. Two misses at 4.56 for everyone but Pyrek and Isi... and Isi hasn't jumped yet.
Polnova & Golubchikova get 3rd attempt makes.
No joy for either the American or German contingents.
And we're down to four...

We will take 4.40m in those conditions right now.

Re: Brussels Golden League 9/5
Isi's first jump was scary short.
A 2nd attempt make for Isi.
But it looks like she may be calling it a night.

Re: Brussels Golden League 9/5
No, I'm wrong. She's going for 4.85... though not particularly well so far: two misses.
Third miss now. Maybe she should've quit on the high note.

Ups and downs for the Olympic champions in Pole Vault and Javelin
In the infield, the wet runway from the early evening rain made the Pole Vault a bit of a mockery. Olympic champion Yelena Isinbayeva only attempted two heights, the 4.72m with which she won the competition on her second try, and the three failures she had at 4.85. No other vaulter scaled heights beyond 4.56 in a below par competition thanks to the weather conditions.

Elsewhere, Russia’s Olympic champion Yelena Isinbayeva won the pole vault with an unimpressive jump of 4.72 meters, blaming a combination of tiredness after Beijing and the damp weather.

Did anyone record the streaming video before the world feed began? The archived video on trackshark begins with the world feed which began about 5 minutes after they showed the vaulters jumping at 4.40m
To any of you that might have it, thanks in advance.
