My friends and I are wondering who is Jacob Pauli, what does he look like, and where did he come from?

It seems that he just appeared out of no where and is one the top vaulters in the u.s.

he was an indoor ncaa champ in 2001. two time olympic trials finals qualifer(i think he got 9th both times or something like that). jumped 19' for the first time this year i believe. never met him but saw him jump at the illinois state meet when i was in eighth grade. i vaulted against kids from his school: farmington high school.
oh, and i did break one of his meet records(set his junior year in high school. pekin dragon relays. it was only 14-1 and i jumped 14-1.75 that day. the next year a kid from pekin broke my record for the meet with 14-3 but i always like to say that i broke one of pauli's records, even though it was with a modest 14-1 jump).

In college he had long wild hair but has been clean cut for several years now.

Actually, I used his poles in HS cuz I was a big guy and we got to thinking. Who around here would have been using 180 and 190s. Jacob Paui! So yeah, I used his carbons in HS. His biggest stick was a 16 190. That was a lot of pole for a guy (Pauli) who probably weighed about 160 or 165 in HS. But yeah, he's a tall gangly looking guy, Kinda nerdy. Looks cool and seemed like a cool guy when I saw him. I think he works out with/coaches UNI guys still.
