The Ex-teacher of Olympic champion and world recordholder Yelena Isinbayeva, Yevgeniy Trofimov, assigned recently to the post of senior trainer to the women's polevaulting team of Russia, in the interview for the agency "Entire sport", described his functions for team Russia and operating principles.

"Among my functions is the survey of all athletes, beginning with the juniors, to compose a data bank and to look at their prospects. The place of gatherings is unambiguously determined. With the conclusion of a contract with the All-Russian Federation for Light Athletics (VFLA) that was one of my conditions, so that all trainings of the team would be passed to Volgograd. According to Yevgeny Trofimov, athletes will arrive with their personal trainers to the base at the Volgograd Academy of Physical Culture. Here for polevaulters are very good conditions for the preparation, even more preferable than in Moscow. Volgograd has a splendid training school, facility for jumping with good teaching trainers. The summer in the city is stable, not rainy, and the stadium at the Academy has a good sector.

Feofanova did not arrive to the training camp of Trofimov

Svetlana Feofanova, the ex-world record holder is not registered to participate in the training camp beginning on 6 January of Yevgeny Trofimov - the senior trainer of team Russia for the female polevault, the former trainer of Yelena Isinbayeva. The sportswoman herself stated this to the agency of sport information "Vyes sport".

"Now I am trained in Moscow, as before, with my trainer Yevgeny Bondarenko," said Svetlana Feofanova. "We did not have plans to go for the training camp, which in these days are taking place in Volgograd. Now I am only just restored after injury, so I am occupied according to my individual program."

Answering a question about her health, Svetlana Feofanova noted: "All last year I suffered with pains in my spine. Yes, even now small pains still remain. My trainings take place thus far without the loads that they previously involved. The forthcoming season will be the first after this prolonged interruption; therefore the primary goal - complete recovery. This of course does not mean that I won't attempt to be selected for the team of Russia to the winter world championships in Moscow."

I assume that's 20 cm above Isi's result as a 15 year-old, since I'm pretty sure her Junior WR was 4.47, set when she was 18, and which was just broken last fall by Silke Spiegelburg. Nevertheless, 4.40 at 15 is pretty impressive.
