Renovated school opening in Lawton

LAWTON -- Lawton High School students return to their own building Monday, but it's a facility with a completely different look.

The high school has undergone a $13.5 million renovation and expansion that includes three new wings and 50 percent more space, while the existing space has been completely gutted and redone.


The athletic complex has a new 200-seat practice gymnasium, an area for pole-vault practice and completely remodeled competition gym with seating capacity of 1,150. The new complex has enough space for three volleyball teams, three basketball teams and the varsity cheer squad to finish practices by 7 p.m.
